Ali-Fabs Architectural Coping system’s prestigious BBA certification renewed
Guttercrest’s Ali-Fabs brand has been awarded certification from the British Board of Agrément, maintaining their position as the only aluminium coping system with the prestigious stamp of approval in the UK.
The UK manufacturer and supplier of Ali-Fabs Copings has been recognised for the performance of its Architectural Coping product following a rigorous assessment.
Guttercrest’s coping range, which all comes under the Ali-Fabs brand name, includes some of the highest performing aluminium copings in the industry.
The wall copings are produced from recyclable aluminium and have an impressive life expectancy well in excess of 40 years in rural or suburban locations, or 30 years in marine and severe industrial environments.
Ali-Fabs aluminium building products date back to 1957, when they were first introduced to the market as Alifabs and latterly known as Alifabs by ABP. Guttercrest strengthened their coping range by acquiring Ali-Fabs in June 2017, following ABP’s decision to concentrate on alternative business interests.
Ali-Fabs Architectural Coping is a high performance coping solution, with hidden fixings and exceptional wind resistance capabilities and is the ideal solution for new and refurbished parapet walls, columns and piers. Available in a wide range of wall widths, it is suitable for any height building, including high rise buildings over four storeys. Coping is finished in a wide selection of polyester powder coating colours and finishes, including stone effect.
Ben Power of Ali-Fabs, said: “Renewing the BBA certificate has been a very rewarding experience. The expectation level of BBA is rightly very high, so it’s been a good test for our systems to pass the verification process.
“We’re aware of the current scrutiny in the building industry over the quality of materials used. The BBA approval should provide specifiers with an extra level of confidence when choosing a wall coping system. They will be getting the only BBA approved metal coping in the UK.”
BBA accreditation is widely recognised amongst architects, builders and local authorities. The new BBA approval rates Ali-Fabs Architectural Coping as fit for purpose on factors such as weather tightness and durability.
