Bespoke curved guttering on ‘roundhouse’
Guttercrest have manufactured and supplied a bespoke rainwater system for a unique new home in Cambridgeshire.
Sarek – named after a fictional character in the Star Trek movies – has been dubbed ‘the roundhouse’ thanks to its spectacular circular structure which features an eyebrow framing the entrance.
Nestled in the heart of the countryside and built using a timber frame structure, the 12.3m diameter house required 40 lengths of 125 x 100mm aluminium box guttering from Guttercrest – a popular choice for modern and contemporary homes.
Technical designers at Guttercrest worked with the architect to create the perfect guttering solution for the new build home. Using the architect’s model, the team designed guttering which is curved both in plan and elevation around the eaves of the building, before dividing the pieces into metre-long lengths to form a true curve radius.
Manufactured in-house at Guttercrest’s 65,000 sq ft Shropshire production facilities, the gutter was delivered direct to site in one of the firm’s own delivery vehicles.
Sarek’s guttering is polyester powder coated to RAL 9010 matt finish – a white colour.
Aluminium is a popular choice for curved guttering, providing a robust and versatile rainwater system, that is easy to fit and provides a long life.
